It's been photographed for months and referred to alternately as Dino and F149, but for now at least, the newest stallion from Maranello goes by the generic moniker, Ferrari GT. Today, the automaker launched www.ferrarigtcountdown.com where the car will be gradually revealed during the runup to the Paris Motor Show this September. Ferrari promises to feed us technical details, sound files and photos of the car between now and Paris. Right now you can see a few teaser images and hear the engine sing its sweet, sweet song as it starts up, runs up and down through the gears, and screams by at full tilt. The countdown timer on the site currently shows 10 days and 22 hours until something else is revealed. Looks like we can put those Dino-branded rumors to rest for good; whatever this car is officially named, it is most definitely a Ferrari. New Ferrari GT to be Revealed on Web

Maranello, May 9th 2008 – A new Ferrari Grand Tourer is in the offing and, in an innovative move, will be revealed to the fans and enthusiasts in a non-traditional way. In the build-up to the new model's official unveiling at the Paris Auto Show next October, we'll be revealing it bit by bit on the dedicated www.ferrarigtcountdown.com site which can also be accessed through the official Ferrari portal at www.ferrariworld.com

Visitors to the site will be guided through a sensory voyage of discovery which, over the coming weeks, will gradually reveal the new car in its entirety and feature some highly gratifying virtual road tests too.

The new site launches today and begins that voyage of discovery with the sense of sound. The roar of the new GT's engine will be the first bit of it to be revealed to enthusiasts, in fact, and will be followed over the next few days by the first photographs of this eagerly-awaited car whose name will also be revealed.

This is the first time that the Prancing Horse has used this virtual voyage of discovery approach which will allow it illustrate various aspects of the new GT model's design and the many, many technological innovations that it sports.
